Terms & Conditions Of Submissions

Contest Description

The Think Tank Geek Girl Calendar is a monthly photography contest. Contestants submit photos to a pool in one or more categories. A panel of volunteer judges independently selects photos from the pool. At the end of each month, all the photos are presented on a voting page. At the end of each month, the votes are tallied and the winners are announced. The Geek Girl(s) of the month will be featured on the next month's calendar page. Winners will be awarded $25 in store merchandise.

Contest Rules

Only photographs submitted digitally will be considered. This is accomplished on the photo submission page.

Photographs will be accepted only from the original photographer.

Since this is a Geek Girl Calendar, preference will be given to pictures of girls with their computer equipment. Descriptive details and machine specifications will also be considered in the final judging.

Copyrights and Permissions

The photographer must hold the copyright to all photos he or she submits to the contest. Photographs that violate the laws of copyright will be disqualified.

The photographer must hold the copyright to all images used in composite photographs submitted.

The use of public domain images is prohibited in all categories.

Photographers retain ownership of all copyrights.

By submitting an image, you hereby grant Think Tank Computers Inc. permission and rights to store, display, and use the image, its thumbnails, the model's name, descriptive text and your name as the photographer, indefinitely on any of the Think Tank Computers Inc. web sites and in any of Think Tank Computers Inc.'s advertising or promotional materials both printed and on-line.

Photographs that include sculptures, statues, paintings, and other works of art will be accepted as long as they do not constitute copyright infringement or fraud. When photographing the artwork of others, it must be as an object in its environment and not a full-frame closeup of another person's art.

Photographers must have sufficient permission of any recognizable models or other persons appearing in the photograph to be able to grant to Think Tank Computers Inc. the right to display their photographic submission online.

Any photos meeting legal challenges from either copyright or insufficient model permissions will be removed and replaced.

Digital camera add-on lenses, filters, and scopes are permitted without restriction. Photos may be edited and altered in any way desired as long as such modification does not violate any of the contest rules, in particular the copyright and model permission restrictions.

Watermarks, Signatures, or Copyright Notices: These marks may be added to the photos to protect the photographer's copyright. Keep in mind, however, that excessively large, distracting watermarks may weaken your photo and thus hinder its chances of being selected.

Keep in mind that the intent of any modification is to produce a more natural looking photograph rather than an obviously manipulated one, and judges will make their selections on this basis.

There are no age limit restrictions except where prohibited by law.

Obscene, provocative, or otherwise prurient content will not be considered. Think Tank Computers Inc. retains sole discretion as to what constitutes unsuitable content. Prime time television rules may be considered a good rule of thumb. Photos containing images of genitals, full posteriors and/or female nipples will be rejected.

The photo selection decisions are final. However, photos will be kept in the pool and may still be selected.

Photos submitted on the last day of the month will be considered in the following month's contest.

System malfunctions, network delays, and other technical problems can happen and Think Tank Computers Inc. is not responsible to assure photos are submitted to the contest, nor does it make any guarantees of when the photos will be entered into the selection pool.

Prize winners may be responsible for shipping charges, taxes, or import tariffs according to location and/or local laws.

All federal, state, provincial, and local laws apply.
